I feel that the Indus Valley Civilisation is quite advanced for its time. For example, the well-planned cities of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa show that it had efficient governments that had planned out the cities' layout.
Its writing system is efficient as it was used in both cities. The cities of the Indus Valley Civilisation also had the world's first complex underground drainage systems that efficiently carried water to houses and waste materials away from the houses. The drainage systems were also large enough to allow workers in to clear any obstruction.
The granaries of the cities were also built to store grains. The Great Bath is a large public bath which is believed by archaelogists to be used for religious bathing.
The Citadel is the main and striking feature. It is also a large fort that can allow citizens to take shelter in if a foreign enemy attacks the city.
